Entelligent is a website for the smart investor interested in energy trading, the U.S. energy industry, and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) investing. As a member of our exclusive paid contributor network, you will be at the forefront of Entelligent’s mission, unearthing cutting-edge research and creating commentary on the intersection of energy, business, and the environment.

Specifically, we are seeking three types of contributors: Journalists/Bloggers, Business Analysts, and Scientists.

We're seeking:

The Entelligent Journalist

As an Entelligent Journalist, you will unearth the latest, most intriguing market focused news at the intersection of the US energy industry and financial investment. Your news coverage will provide Entelligent users with investment ideas and key insights on trends within the energy industry and their impact on the global economy and marketplace.

Compensation

  • Subject to the Entelligent Submission Terms and Conditions, all authors are paid $180 per published submission. If your published Submission (unless it is a news summary), is one of the two most-viewed contributed articles on the site during the first week following its publication, we will pay you a view bonus of $200.

Benefits

  • Provide financial investors with actionable commentary and greater energy insight.
  • Expand your voice, visibility, and influence within the investment, environmental, and business communities.
  • Increase your exposure via links to your personal website and social media accounts, included in every article.

Qualifications

  • You do not need to be a professional reporter, but you should have strong writing skills and familiarity with Associated Press style is a plus. Our users love clear, concise writing with a factual, business focused message.
  • You must be able to convey complex scientific and business concepts through focused writing that appeals to the sophisticated investor.

Submissions

We're looking for two types of submissions

  • News summaries (not eligible for View Bonus): 250-to-500-word posts about a current (no older than seven days) corporate news item related to the energy industry, the environment, governmental policy, sustainable business trends, investment, regulation, or technology. Entelligent aims to be the definitive word on the street, not the first one.
  • Business and Scientific articles: 600-to-1,000-word posts about cutting-edge technologies and/or research in climatology or related fields.
  • Corporate news: 250-to-500-word posts about public energy companies, on topics including (but not limited to) innovations in technologies, impacts of the changing regulatory environment, commodity trends, and efficacy in addressing environmental emissions and compliance with new regulations.

The Entelligent Financial Analyst

As an Entelligent Financial Analyst, you will unearth the latest, most intriguing energy sector news from the perspective of business and investment. Your analysis will help provide Entelligent users with the necessary market, business, and financial insights they need to identify new investment opportunities, develop new strategies, and strengthen their portfolios.

Compensation

  • Subject to the Entelligent Submission Terms and Conditions, all authors are paid $180 per published submission. If your published Submission (unless it is a news summary), is one of the two most-viewed contributed articles on the site during the first week following its publication, we will pay you a view bonus of $200.

Benefits

  • Provide self-directed investors with actionable, tradable energy insights that strengthen their portfolios by reducing risk from changing market conditions, with an emphasis on changing environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for professional analysts or portfolio managers, but more importantly, for industry experts with a solid foundation in making buy/sell recommendations.

  • You must be able to convey sophisticated financial concepts throughfocused writing that appeals to the investment community.

Submissions

We're looking for two types of submissions

  • News summaries (not eligible for View Bonus): 250-to-500-word posts about a current (no older than seven days) news item relating to energy business trends, investment, regulation, governmental policy, or technology.
  • Finance articles: 600-to-1,000-word posts about cutting-edge concepts in energy, business trends, investment, regulation, governmental policy, or technology, that will help Entelligent users make buy/sell decisions. The best finance articles will feature US public companies at the heart of the energy and climate debate and contain actionable commentary regarding risks and/or opportunities for investors.
  • Corporate news: 250-to-500-word posts about public energy companies, on topics including (but not limited to) innovations in technologies, impacts of the changing regulatory environment, commodity trends, and efficacy in addressing environmental emissions and compliance with new regulations.

The Entelligent Scientist

As an Entelligent Scientist, you will help provide insight into cutting-edge environmental and technology research. Your article will help provide Entelligent users with the insight they need to understand our changing world and how they can adjust their investment portfolio to reflect their values and improve their performance.

Compensation

  • Subject to the Entelligent Submission Terms and Conditions, all authors are paid $180 per published submission. If your published Submission (unless it is a news summary), is one of the two most-viewed contributed articles on the site during the first week following its publication, we will pay you a view bonus of $200.

Benefits

  • Provide financial investors with environmental and technological insight into environmental issues impacting the energy industry, and efforts by government and companies seeking to mitigate it.
  • Increase your visibility and influence within the investment, environmental, and business communities.
  • Increase networking and exposure via links to your personal website and social media accounts, included in every article.

Qualifications

  • A strong background in science and research is key. Whether the topic involves your research or general advances in the field, a scientific perspective is incredibly valuable.
  • Strong written skills are a must and familiarity with Associated Press style is a plus. Our users love clear, concise writing with a factual, unbiased message.
  • You must be able to convey complex scientific concepts through easy-to-understand, focused writing that appeals to the investment community.

Submissions

We're looking for two types of submissions

  • News summaries (not eligible for View Bonus): 250-to-500-word posts about a current (no older than seven days) news item relating to energy, investment, regulation, policy, and cutting-edge environmental and technology research.
  • Scientific articles: 600-to-1,000-word posts about cutting-edge research in environmental, climatology, or related fields that might impact the market perception of risks from environmental influences; the impact of environmental regulations and government policy; and new technologies. The best scientific articles will feature journal or paper analysis with insightful commentary.

A detailed and well-developed pitch is one that includes an overall message or thesis and explains how it relates to current corporate news and/or analysis.

A completed draft for review will accommodate the guidelines in this document and will connect corporate news and analysis to investment threats and opportunities. This draft will define the topic’s importance and include outside insight (if applicable) that is up to date and lends further insight to thesis. All submitted drafts should include a list or mention of companies relevant to subject or industry. All data will be up to date, will be sourced accordingly, and will include hyperlinks. Submitted drafts should present a logical explanation or take-home message for the material/text provided.

Entelligent Submission Terms and Conditions

Revision No. 2, Dated August 18, 2015

These Submission Terms and Conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) together with any documents expressly incorporated by reference, including the Entelligent Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, describe your rights and responsibilities as an author and contributor of articles, pieces, commentary, reports, news summaries and other material in any form, including visual or audio data (collectively “Submissions”) for consideration by and use or publication on Entelligent.com (the “Site”). By making Submissions, by agreeing to prepare Submissions for publication or by using the Site you agree to be legally bound by this Agreement, which will take effect immediately. If you do not agree to be legally bound by all of the following terms please do not provide any Submissions.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

We may revise and update these Terms and Conditions from time to time in our sole discretion. All changes are effective immediately when we post them, and apply to all Submissions thereafter. By making a Submission following the posting of revised Terms and Conditions means that you accept and agree to the changes.

Grant of License

By making a Submission, you grant to us and our designees a worldwide, exclusive, sub licensable, assignable, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable right (including any moral rights) and license to use, reproduce, distribute, create derivative works based on, perform and display such Submissions (in whole or in part) in any media now known or hereafter developed, for any purpose whatsoever, in return for the payment of the Fees set forth in these Terms and Conditions.

You agree that you shall not grant distribution or publication rights to any of Submission to any person without our prior written consent.

Use of Submissions

You acknowledge that to the extent that you include personally identifiable information in Submissions, we may publish such information as part of the content. If we republish your content, we may provide authorship credit by listing your name as well.

If we wish to publish your Submission, we will contact you as soon as possible. We may suggest revisions or edits for you to make prior to publication. We may also have questions for you to answer prior to posting. You agree to cooperate in good faith with Entelligent to make such revisions and respond to any questions.

You acknowledge and agree that we may do one or all of the following:

  • Remove or refuse to post any Submission for any or no reason in our sole discretion.
  • Take any action with respect to any Submission that we deem necessary or appropriate in our sole discretion, including if we believe that such Submission violates these Terms and Conditions, infringes any intellectual property right or other right of any person or entity, or could create liability for Entelligent.
  • Disclose your identity or other information about you to any third party who claims that all or a part of your Submission violates their rights, including their intellectual property rights or their right to privacy.
  • Take appropriate legal action, including without limitation, referral to law enforcement, for any illegal or unauthorized use of the Site.
  • Terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the Site for any or no reason, including without limitation, any violation of these Terms and Conditions.

Without limiting the foregoing, we have the right to fully cooperate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing us to disclose the identity or other information of anyone providing Submissions. YOU WAIVE AND HOLD HARMLESS ENTELLIGENT AND ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSEES AND SERVICE PROVIDERS FROM ANY CLAIMS RESULTING FROM ANY ACTION TAKEN BY ANY OF THE FOREGOING PARTIES DURING OR AS A RESULT OF ITS INVESTIGATIONS AND FROM ANY ACTIONS TAKEN AS A CONSEQUENCE OF INVESTIGATIONS BY EITHER SUCH PARTIES OR LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES.

This section will survive any termination or expiration of these Terms and Conditions.

Representations Regarding Submissions and Content Standards

You represent and warrant that your Submissions:

  • are original works that have not been and will not be published elsewhere.
  • do not infringe any third party's intellectual property rights, other proprietary rights or rights of publicity or privacy;
  • do not violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation (including and securities laws or regulations);
  • are not defamatory, trade libelous, unlawfully threatening or unlawfully harassing;
  • are not obscene or pornographic and do not contain child pornography;
  • do not violate any laws regarding unfair competition, anti-discrimination or false advertising;
  • do not include any material non-public information of any person or company;
  • do not contain information that is confidential or privileged or otherwise subject to confidentiality or pother provisions or protections from public disclosure and publication;
  • violate the legal rights (including rights of publicity and privacy) of others or contain any material that could give rise to civil or criminal liability under applicable laws or regulations; and
  • do not contain any viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancel bots or other computer programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information.

You understand and acknowledge that you are responsible for any Submission, and you, not Entelligent, have full responsibility for such Submission content, including its legality, reliability, accuracy and appropriateness.

We are not responsible, or liable to any third party, for the content or accuracy of any Submission.

Disclosure of Interests

You will disclose to us any financial, pecuniary, employment or family relationship you may have with any company that is the subject of any Submission, or is mentioned in any Submission.

Copyright and Ownership Policy

All of the content featured or displayed on the Site, including without limitation text and graphics (“Content”), is owned by Entelligent, its licensors, vendors, agents and/or its Content providers. All elements of the website, including without limitation the general design and the Content, are protected by trade dress, copyright, moral rights, trademark and other laws relating to intellectual property rights.

Fees

If we select your Submission for publication and you have complied with these Terms and Conditions, we will pay you a publication fee of $180 (the “Publication Fee”). Commencing Septermber 1, 2015, if your published Submission is one of the two most-viewed contributed articles on the Site during the first week following its publication, we will pay you a view bonus of $200 (the “View Bonus”). Each Submission is limited to a single Publication Fee and View Bonus. Publication Fees and View Bonuses will be paid within six weeks following the month of publication and/or the month the Submission qualifies for the View Bonus. The payment of a Publication Fee or a View Bonus is exclusive of any value-added, sales, turnover, income or other tax. You acknowledge that you will be solely responsible for the payment of any taxes arising out of your receipt of a Publication Fee or View Bonus.

Selection of Submissions for publication and viewership of Submissions shall be determined by Entelligent in its sole discretion. If and as a condition to the acceptance of your Submission for publication and payment of Fees, your Submission must be exclusive to Entelligent at the time of publication.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Entelligent, its affiliates, licensors and service providers, and its and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms and Conditions, including, but not limited to, your Submissions.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

All matters relating to the Site and these Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising therefrom or related thereto (in each case, including non-contractual disputes or claims), shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the State of Colorado without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision or rule (whether of the State of Colorado or any other jurisdiction).

Any legal suit, action or proceeding arising out of, or related to, these Terms and Conditions or the Site shall be instituted exclusively in the federal courts of the United States or the courts of the State of Colorado, in each case located in the City and County of Denver, although we retain the right to bring any suit, action or proceeding against you for breach of these Terms and Conditions in your country of residence or any other relevant country. You waive any and all objections to the exercise of jurisdiction over you by such courts and to venue in such courts.

Waiver and Severability

No waiver by us of any term or condition set forth in these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or a waiver of any other term or condition, and any failure of us to assert a right or provision under these Terms and Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable for any reason, such provision shall be eliminated or limited to the minimum extent such that the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and Terms of Use, constitute the sole and entire agreement between you and Entelligent with respect to the Website and supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations and warranties, both written and oral, with respect to the Website.
