Senior Software Engineer

Entelligent is the solution for aligning market interests with climate change risk. We develop unique data sets, integrating quantitative financial analysis, investment risk and return characteristics, and predictive performance of securities under various climate and energy futures.

As a Senior Software Engineer at Entelligent, you will be a guiding force on the platform development team, helping to set standards for good coding practices and agile methodology. Working closely with our data and climate scientists, you will support Entelligent’s ever-growing role as a thought leader in scenario-based climate risk analytics. An ability to work with minimal supervision, curiosity, and passion for writing great code with a great team are musts.


· Build, design and maintain Entelligent’s growing suite of data and analytics products

· Estimate, prioritize and execute on new features and platform capabilities across all layers of our data architecture

· Strategically modularize and standardize our products to minimize fragmentation and support rapid scaling

· Assure quality through pair programming, code inspections, code reviews and good development workflows (i.e. Agile)

· Automate data pipelines and processes



· 4+ years of experience working on software team

· Experience using system monitoring tools

· Extensive experience in software development

· Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)

· In-depth knowledge of relational databases (SQL)

· Strong Python development skills, including pandas and numpy

· Expert knowledge of git version control

· Experience with orchestration, run book automation and job scheduling (Apache Airflow, CRON or similar)


Preferred, but not required:

· Experience with DevOps (particularly Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services or similar)

· Experience in machine learning and data science

· Experience with Tableau

· Experience with financial datasets and investing terminology
