Entelligent Names Majlis Investment Management Founder and Managing Partner Karim Shariff to Its Board of Directors

Karim Shariff, Entelligent Board Director

“Karim brings a perspective that is well-aligned with our strategy. We look forward to his leveraging his investment skills and global relationships to identify new partners and to support our existing business,” said Entelligent CEO and co-founder Thomas H. Stoner Jr. “He’s already been an invaluable partner providing strategic advice and a global worldview so critical to a thought leader in the climate risk analytics industry.”

Shariff, whose firm focuses on innovative, disruptive and strategic opportunities, said: “Financial intermediaries recognize the global existential threat of climate change. At the same time, we all know that what gets measured gets managed, and Entelligent has developed a unique approach to measuring climate risk. We ought to make climate risk measurement and disclosure mandatory.”

“For far too long, the vast majority of traditional investors have ignored social impact, and most ESG investors have overlooked the tools of rigorous valuation,“ Shariff said. “I look forward to helping Entelligent expand its vital platform assessing climate risk to more clients worldwide.”

From 2012 to 2021, Shariff was a senior advisor to Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm. In Dubai, Shariff had been a senior partner from 2007 to 2009 within the principal investment division at SHUAA Capital, the UAE’s leading financial services firm that is now part of the Abu Dhabi Financial Group.

About Entelligent: Entelligent is an independent technology company that has developed proprietary and patented (USA) technology to analyze forward-looking climate scenario models to improve risk-adjusted returns for institutional investors. Entelligent was the first company to be granted a patent over the use of climate scenario analysis in climate-risk assessment for security selection and other financial products. Entelligent’s data analytics platform allows the capital markets to make a positive impact on climate change and addresses the lack of clear, tangible metrics to provide a roadmap for effective climate risk investing. Its portfolio of solutions — including Smart Climate®, E-Score® and T-Risk — deliver climate change risk metrics for securities and portfolios, and enable companies and institutions to meet emerging climate regulatory requirements.
